Applications
CompletedLegacy Application Modernization
I led the move of a core business application from a legacy desktop tool to a modern web platform, without interrupting the processes that depend on it.
Live on the web5/5
People work in the browser and the old tool is retired.
The problem
The business relied on an aging desktop application. It worked, but it tied people to individual workstations and made every change slower than it should be.
Replacing it carried real risk. Documents, calculations and approvals all had to keep behaving as people expected, because daily operations depended on them.
My contribution
- Defined the target architecture and migration approach, with the existing application as the behavioral reference.
- Built the web interface and backend services, module by module.
- Checked new modules against existing behavior before people moved over.
- Added stronger access control and audit logging as functions moved to the web.
- Connected the platform to the existing business systems around it.
